Sarah Yes Magazine Cover story

In the March 2011 issue of Yes Magazine, pop star princess Sarah Geronimo breaks her silence.

We heard and read Rayver and Christine's side, now, its time to know what really happened and how it happened straight from the other side of the story. Yes magazine interviewed Sarah, her mom Divine and also the people close to her.

Priscilla and john Estrada Wedding

Held at the Thunderbird Resorts at Poro Point in San Fernando, La Union, actor/comedienne and beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles say their I do's in front of their family, friends and media people who cover the said event.

Priscilla wore a white wedding gown made by Randy Ortiz, while John looks very happy likein his suit. Priscilla's friends from Brazil flew in just to see her getting married to his man. 

Big names gathered in the said celebration of hearts, their principal sponsors are TV executives, politicians, business men, movie producers and closed friends. Some personalities in the said entourage are Sharon Cuneta, Gabby Conception, Ai-ai De Las Alas, Kris Aquino, Randy Santiago, Lorna Tolentino, Ogie Alcasid.

John's 3 daughters are all present, Inah, Kaila, and Moira, his only son Yuan was his junior best man.

Rep. Ronald Singson: sentenced to 18 months in jail

Hongkong court released an order to detain Rep. Ronald Singson for 18 months in Hongkong for drug possession.

Last year, Singson was arrested in Hongkong airport, he was caught in possession of 6.67 grams of cocaine. He spend 2 months in jail and posted bail for his freedom.  He pleaded guilty for possession but for personal consumption and has no intention to sell the drugs.

District Court Judge Joseph Yau gave Singson credit for admitting his mistake and as a member of the Philippine House of Representatives, the court decided to sentence Singson to 1 year and six months instead of 2 years and six months.

Gov. Chavit Singson, Ronald's girlfriend Lovi Poe and siblings attended the court hearing and cried after they heard the court order.Gov, Singson, informed the press people, that his son will be detained in Hong Kong’s Lai Chi Kok Correctional Institution. The whole family is sad he said, but "nobody is above the law" and they don't have plans to appeal the case.

Other congressmen and member of the House is calling for Singson's resignation. Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone said, he has to resign to maintain the respect and honor the people has for the other congressmen. Rep. Teodoro Casi, Bayan-Muna rep. said that the ethics committee should recommend expulsion to the plenary.

Rep. Ronald Singson apologized for what he has done and will deal with all the problems he left here as soon as he completed his sentence.  

 

Bieber fever at 2011 NBA ALL Star

He can sing, he can play musical instruments and he can dance, plus he can make teenage girls cry, that's Justin Bieber. Another thing that can be added to his name is, he can play basketball and not just basic basketball, he can drive, pass and can shoot that basketball.

He wore jersey number 6 and member of West team, he contributed 8 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds. These numbers are enough to give him an MVP award even if his team lost to East team.

Maria Aragon another Charice?

Maria Aragon did her own version of Lady Gaga's new single "Born this way" on Youtube and after days of posting it, her video now has over 10 million views and still counting. The 10 year own Filipino American used her dad and brother's youtube account and uploaded her video with her sister holding the camera.

After she posted the video, Lady Gaga got a chance to watch it and she posted this on her twitter account

Now, Maria got a call from Lady Gaga and when Gaga got reminded of her show in Toronto on March, she invited Maria to sing with her on stage. The little girl got so excited after hearing it from her.    

 

This remind us of another youtube star Charice, she got discovered also on youtube. Now, Oprah got her doing concerts, performing with other great singers and got a spot on Glee.  

 

No comparison, just two great Filipino talent with different things to offer.  

Taylor Swift live in Manila

Last February 19, one of the hottest foreign star performed at the Big Dome. Taylor Swift made her first concert in Manila and made the whole crowd go crazy with her hit songs.

Sam Conception was the front act and said to be handpicked by Taylor to open the concert. He sang 4 songs including Kung Fu Fighting and Katy Perry's Fireworks. Sam also met Taylor's father backstage and of course he had a chance to meet Taylor Swift.

People love Taylor's songs and they even loved her every time she tried to spoke Tagalog. She told the crowd "Mahal Kita" and greet them " Magandang Gabi Kamusta Kayo". The 21-year old singer is so lovable, she seems to enjoy the Filipino crowd and the crowd sings with every song she sung.

Avid fans of Taylor took videos, it is a proof that everyone enjoys the concert and money wise its worth it.

 

Blake Griffin 2011 NBA All Star Slam Dunk King

It's not the best dunk ever on NBA but the presentation makes it the best dunk for the  2011 NBA All Star.

Blake Griffin is one of the favorites in this year's Slam dunk contest, he did a 360 degrees behind the head slam for his first dunk. Then he did a off the board and slams the ball up to his elbow.

For his final dunk, he had a Kia Optima as a prop, and inside the car is his team mate Baron Davis who did an alley hoop pass. Blake won the online vote against Washington Wizard JaVale McGee.

The Royal Invitation

Wedding invitation for the much awaited wedding of the year has final sent out last week.

Over 1,800 guests will receive the invitation for Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding. From world leaders, to famous celebrities, relatives and close friends of the couple and crowned heads of Europe are said to have the invitation.

Men are are required to wear uniforms or suits, women on the other hand don't have dress code but they have to wear a hat for the wedding service.
 

Donaire scores a knockout against Montiel.

The Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire Jr. gave Montiel a fight that he will never forget.



Donaire got Montiel knocked out by a left hook, Montiel was able to got up but the referee stop the fight after he received more hard punches from Nonito.

Montiel is also known for hard punches, he beaten two other Filipino fighters by a knockout. The loss gave Montiel his 44-3-2 record,and  34 won by a knockout.

Nonito now have a 26-1 record, 18 by a way of knockout. In this fight he got the WBC/WBO bantamweight tittles. The Pinoy pride is confident about the fight and made a promise to his Filipino supporters that he will give his best.

53rd Grammy Awards: Another drama for Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga made another dramatic entrance at the 2011 Grammy Awards, the "Bad Romance" singer arrived at Staple Center in a giant egg carried by four muscular men.

Last year at the MTV awards, Lady Gaga wore a real fresh meat. She took home 3 awards, best female pop vocal album for The Fame Monster album, best female pop vocal performance and best short form music video both for the song Bad Romance

Charice at 2011 Red Dress Awards

Days before her much awaited Valentine concert on T.V, Charice performed at Red Dress Awards at Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC. 

Red Dress Awards is an event for the American Heart Month and honoring women who made a contribution to fight heart disease. Celebrities who joined the event are Red Dress Awardees  Barbara Walters and Hoda Kotb, host Mario Lopez and artist Cee-Lo. 


She sung 3 songs, including a Whitney Houston medley and made the crowd excited with her version of I Will Survive.  







Charice: Home for Valentines is presented by GMA 7, with guests Ogie Alcasid and Michael V.

Sharon Cuneta vs Hayden Kho

 Hayden Kho  tweeted "There's a billboard ad in Edsa developed by advertisers who think consumers are stupid. Guess." .  People close to Sharon Cuneta thought that Hayden is talking and slamming her Marie France billboard.

Sharon answers back, defend Marie France and her credibility as an endorser.  "Ang nakakatawa, parang I don't have to have to defend myself, pero what I'll do na lang is siguro, at this point, I'll remind na lang everybody na I've been endorsing products very credibly, very carefully, since I was 13.


"At hindi ko ipagpapalit sa isang endorserment yung reputation ko," diin ni Sharon. "Marie France has been around for 25 years. Itanong n'yo na lang kay Dawn [Zulueta]."

She also send a message to Hayden "If I may add to that: Decent people are [the only] people I would like to listen to. Not those who do not know the meaning of decency. And who treat women like they're nothing! Excuse me!
 "You know, you want to start a war with me? You? Fix all your problems first!" matapang na pahayag ni Sharon.

Hayden cleared things and tweeted  "Wow! i wasn't referring to the MF (Marie France) billboard. I was referring to a "L**D" that's supposed to be a LOURDES. Dahan dahan naman po."
and "That was quite a wounding tirade from someone i respect. Ironic, really. Very ironic."

 

 

Team AZKALS won 2-0 over Mongolia

AZKALS won 2-0 over Mongolia Blue Wolves at AFC Challenge Cup, it happened at Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City. Lead by their German coach, Hans Michael Weiss, AZKALS went out of the dugout very confident.

AZKALS wearing their white uniforms, are all focus to win the game to make the whole nation proud. Filipinos again became one in terms of sports, this time its not about boxing or Pacquiao, its football and a team.

Just before half time, Chieffy Caligdong scored a 3 touch goal in front of a Mongolian goal keeper to take a 1-0 lead over Mongolia.

And minutes before the game end, Phil Younghusband again made a goal and took a 2-0 lead.



Filipinos enjoyed the game and the victory that even if the team have left the field no one wants to live their seats. Fireworks completes the celebration and it lasted for a long time.

The new noontime show of ABS CBN starts on February 12, right after SHOWTIME. HAPPY! YIPEE!YEHEY! will be hosted by John Estrada, Randy Santiago, Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez, they also added PBB winner Melai Cantiveros and Juanita Banana star Bianca Manalo.

Former Eat Bulaga and Sexbomb choreographer/manager Joy Cancio will handle the dance routine of the dancers.

Two big celebrities turn down the offer to host the show. Sam Milby backed out after conflicts with his schedule and Ai-Ai De Las Alas refused to accept the said hosting job.
