The 36th season of the Philippine Basketball Association officially started yesterday. Ten teams paraded their muses, Air21 Express(Daiana Meneses), Alaska Aces Nancy Castiliogne), Barako Bulls (Bianca Bauer), Brgy. Ginebra (Anne Curtis), B-Meg (Carla Abellana), Meralco (Meralco employees and Children of Caritas), Powerade (Vice Ganda) Rain or Shine (Coleen Garcia), San Miguel Beermen (Isabel Daza, Georgina Wilson and Sam Pinto), and last years all Filipino Champion Talk N' Text ( Jenelyn Mercado).
Commisioner Chito Salud officially announced the comeback of the 3 conference format and gave recognition to former PBA team Sta. Lucia Realty.
Ms. Universe 4th runner up Venus Raj hosted the show. Mr. pure energy Gary Valenciano entertained the crowd before the parade of teams.
Ginebra Gin Kings faced Meralco Bolts in the opening game. Venus Raj did the jumped ball before the game started. Meralco won the game with a 1 point.
