Paul the octopus became famous for its prediction for the FIFA Word Cup 2010 held in South Africa. He died in his aquarium at Oberhausen Sea Life Aquarium in Germany, one staff discovered his lifeless body Tuesday.
Before any speculations of foul play General Manager Stefan Porwoll stated “He died peacefully in the night of a natural death. It is a comforting thought that he had a good life with us, with the best possible care by a dedicated team.”
Paul's body is now preserved and will be cremated, his memorial will show “most beautiful and moving moments.”
His urn containing his ashes will be on display together with the national flag of football team for his great predictions.
