Shaq retiring from basketball, players reaction and appreciation for Big Shaq

Shaquille O'Neal announced on twitter that he is retiring from basketball.

In his 19 years in NBA, he played for Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Boston Cletics. His achievements includes, Rookie of the Year in 1992-93, Most Valuable Player in the 1999-2000 NBA Season, 15 All-Star appearance, Defensive Awards and Finals MVP.  He helped Los Angeles Lakers to get 3 championship trophies and also got another championship ring for Miami Heat.

In a statement released by Lakers Owner Dr. Jerry Buss on behalf of the Los Angeles Lakers, “Shaq had a long and amazing career, with a huge impact both on and off the court. His contributions were significant to the entire NBA, but we specifically appreciate what he did with and what he meant to the Lakers during his eight years with us. We have three championships that we wouldn’t have won without him, and we will forever be grateful for his significant contributions to those teams.”
