Support Smart Gilas Pilipinas: Important game today against Jordan

Even if some of the players decided to enter pro/commercialize basketball, Smart Gilas Pilipinas are still focus to attain their goal.

The main goal of the national team is to play in the London Olympics on 2012. Coach Rajko Toroman lead the whole team to different trainings here and abroad. Now, the biggest chance is now on the Smart Gilas Pilipinas hands.

FIBA Asia will determine who will represent Asia in the London Olympics.A national team who will bring home the crown will be playing against the best basketball team in the world. FIBA Asia started Sept. 15 in Wuhan China..

At the FIBA Asia quarter final round, after 24 years, the Philippine National Basketball Team is now back as one of the strongest in team in Asia. After beating, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan,Japan, and Syria, Team Pilipinas enters the quarter final round of the FIBA Asia.

With their game against power house Chinese Taipei yesterday, coach Rajko and the whole team achieved the 24 year goal of the national team. Lead by Marcus Douthit, who scores more than 30 points, team Pilipinas enters the semi-final round of FIBA Asia.

The 4 top teams at the FIBA Asia are Smart Gilas Pilipinas, Jordan, Korea and China. Team Pilipinas will play in a knockout game against Jordan, whoever wins today will go to the finals. They will face whoever wins in the Korea-China game.

The Smart Gilas Pilipinas players are Marcus Douthit, Chris Tiu, JV Casio, Mac Baracael,Andy Barroca Chris Lutz, Marcio Lassiter, Japeth Aguilar,with PBA players, Asi Taulava, Kelly Williams, Ranidel Ocampo, and Jimmy Alapag. Head coach Rajko Toroman, asst. coaches Chot Reyers, Ryan Gregorio, Jude Roque and Oliver Bunye.
