Bagyong Sendong caught Iligan and CDO by surprise and now, the said  provinces are under state of calamity.

Just 8 days before Christmas, Bagyong Sendong left 11 barangays in Iligan City and 17 barangays in CDO soaked in water and mud. Hundreds of people is also missing and thousands are now being evacuated in the said barangays because of strong flash floods. NDRRMC or National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is now monitoring the whole damage in Iligan and CDO.

The said typhoon enters Philippines area of responsibility last week and hit Iligan and CDO Saturday morning.Due to none stop rain fall, heavy flash floods causes landslide and washes away everything.

President Aquino III personally visited the NDRRMC headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo to know what actions must be done. PCG, PNP, DSWD, LGU and AFP are now taking necessary actions to help the said barangays.

Another reason for the said flash floods and landslides is the continuous activity of illegal loggers.
