This is how they wanted to blend Green Lantern to the ethnic and sexual diversity. Marvel Comics will soon have a wedding for gay mutants/superhero on "Astonishing X-Men". Archie Comics had a gay couple wedding.
But despite the big "reintroduction", Green Lantern remains a superhero who will bring justice to human kind. It will soon on "Earth 2" written by James Robinson.
