Pres. Benigno Aquino III awarded the late King of Philippine Movies,
Ronald Allan Kelley Poe a.k.a Fernando Poe Jr, Order of National Artist for Cinema.
Poe Jr's wife, Susan Roces received the award in a ceremony held at the
Rizal Ceremonial Hall, Malacañan Palace. The Order of National Artists is the highest recognition given to a Filipino artist.
Susan and her daughter Grace Poe Llamanzares refused to accept the said award during the term of former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Arroyo and Poe both run for president back in 2004.
